Genever (Jenever)

Juniper‑flavored spirit based on malt wine, the historical predecessor to gin. Protected styles include jonge, oude, and korenwijn with differing malt‑wine content and sweetness.

• Malt wine (malted grains) distilled and blended with neutral spirit and botanicals; pot and column stills in varying proportions.

Flavor & Use

• Range: malty, bready, juniper, spice; richer body than dry gin.
• Cocktails: Improved Holland Gin Cocktail, Dutch Negroni; traditional kopstootje (beer + genever).
